Why We Exist
The seconds before a response are the ones that matter
First Cordon was founded by Chris Barker and Garrit Van T Veen — both former law enforcement officers who responded to armed incidents throughout their careers. They built this company because they knew, from personal experience, that the gap between a weapon appearing and a security team being informed is the most dangerous interval in any incident.
Existing detection systems were fast, but unverified. False positives eroded trust. Teams stopped responding at full readiness. The solution wasn't faster automation — it was a human layer that could confirm the threat was real before the alert went out.
